A quick note about *that*

You may have noticed that I posted a piece of short fiction earlier today.  No?  Well, it’s this one.  I know I haven’t been doing that kind of thing lately, but one of the blogs I read, Chuck Wendig’s Terrible Minds, does weekly flash fiction challenges.  Usually I don’t participate.  Last week’s challenge, though, came with the promise of Fabulous Prizes!  Specifically, an e-book version of Chuck’s work.  Since I really want a copy of his guide to the depraved writer’s life, “Confessions of a Freelance Penmonkey,” I figured it might be worth joining in, at least this week.

As I contemplated participation, a story to fit the required theme popped into my brain almost fully formed.  Damn thing practically wrote itself.  The hardest part was trimming it to the maximum 1000 words.  Anyway, here’s the result.  It’s different than my usual stuff, for sure, but I kinda like it.

I hope you don’t hate it.

Also, I’ve decided that to sweeten the pot, whomever is the 100th fan of Puddintopia.com on Facebook gets to select the picture that will grace my profile for a full week.  Yes, that’s right, the 100th “Like” gets to chose something from all my pictures or anything I’ve been tagged in, or heck, anything at all for a full week.  You name it.

Anyway, cross your fingers that I win the Big Prize, and feel free to let me know how you feel about today’s random fiction.

You can haz a good weekend.

Don’t drink anything too colorful.
