Socks for Social Distancing, Day 50

It was a good day for cheeseburger short socks. Or at least it seemed like it this morning. With the sun out and temperatures reaching towards 80, I even had vague notions of grilling for dinner.

After mowing the lawn, of course.

And that, as usual. is where my Saturday plans collapsed. The lawn mower stopped engaging the blades half way through the front lawn, requiring some time in the pits and the assistance of YouTube to get everything back in working order. Spoiler alert: simple adjustment to the engaging line. Of course, once the blades were spinning the way its makers intended, I realized it needed new oil as well.

Long story short, cutting the grass—which usually takes around an hour—ended up taking 3 and change, plus the pity of a neighbor. If you look closely you can even see the effect of all the time in the grass on the socks.

So,yeah, maybe we didn’t cheeseburger for dinner. There’s always hope for tomorrow. But at least the grass is done, making my evening on the back porch top notch.

I hope the weather in your neck of the woods was just as delightful as mine today, and your adventures in gardening were somewhat less fraught with complication. But whatever you got into today, I hope you had a great Saturday and are having an awesome weekend.
