Important things to note

As I pointed out in yesterday’s undoubtedly award-worthy haiku, the kids are on spring break this week.  Apparently, it’s common for families to go on something called a vacation at this time of year, but that’s not an activity I have much experience with.  Whatever it is, it sounds costly and might result in being out in the world, the public parts, with other people.  Obviously, no one wants that.

Although the Puddinette was more than just a little confused by my child-like lack of understanding about these sorts of things, she would not be swayed; spring Break requires fun family activities. Luckily, she ultimately took pity on me and decided we’d take it easy this year and go with the much-less-stressful staycation.  Nonetheless, the time for activities is now upon us.  My work week is hereby finished (at least officially), and we are committed to fun and excitement for the next couple of days.

All of that is, of course, to say, please help me. I hear there will probably be waterslides and animals involved.  I’m frightened*.

Also, on a completely different note, I might have referenced some home brewing activity here in the recent few weeks.  If anyone’s interested (and who isn’t, really?), I posted a piece to Hoperatives today about getting back into the home brew saddle, complete with pictures!  So, if you’re curious what my young beer looks like and want to know what insights I gleaned from making my first batch of beer in half a decade, I recommend you click on over there and find out.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, apparently I have to find my bathing suit.

*Just kidding.  As the ongoing Making-Puddin-A-Real-Person project seems to be having some success, I’m actually looking forward to a couple of days of romping family fun.  Seriously, I don’t even know who I am anymore.

  1. I love it, especially the last line. Clearly, I “got lost” along the way. “Who are You” from The Who clearly applies. Left to my own, who knows? Glad to know you clutch to several things that make you unique 🙂
