100th Post Spectacular

Well, well, well, it seems that the improbable can actually happen. When I set the Puddintopia Writing Challenge for myself at the end of January, I figured I’d have just enough enthusiasm to spit out five or six half-hearted entries in the dead, dull, heart of winter before the urge to put together words petered out completely. At that point I assumed I’d let the thing languish and collect dust while I took up a costly heroin habit to overshadow the embarrassing fact that I couldn’t even keep up a simple blog.

Well, ok, probably not heroin – it’s really expensive and I’m not the right guy to be driving through the ghetto looking to score. The distraction of choice would more likely include a spiral of personal descent comprised of priceycraftbeer and video games, but you get the point.

But, NO! I have preserved! It is thus with much pride and a wee bit of amazement that I write the 100th Official post of the PWC. Huzzah! Hurray! Woot, even! And there was much rejoicing!

In the interest of not having much else to talk about at the moment besides my disappointment earlier this week with Subway’sSweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, I thought maybe we should have a quick recap of all the key Puddintopia topics thus far. Here are my top 5 highlights:

Ok, so that’s really six highlights. Yes, I have a degree in math, but I’m only good with math that uses letters. Numbers screw me up.

So, I’m one-third the way to my goal, in number of posts, and remarkably have just under two-thirds of the year I originally allowed to get ‘er done. Oh, and I did do that word count the other night; I’ve written 64, 268 words to date, which puts us over the half-way mark as far as word count goes. The way I see it, we’re doing pretty good so far.

I am beginning to fear that the frequent posting is going to interfere with taking my new ideas and making a novel out of them. So, there may be changes afoot before too long. I wouldn’t want Puddintopia to become a creative obstacle; that would be very, very bad.

For now, though, I’m going to leave that elephant in the corner. Instead, let’s all take a deep breath and enjoy a celebratory beverage or Jello pudding cup in honor of reaching 100 posts. Thank you, dearest Puddinette, for laughing at the appropriate times and giving me the swift kick of support I so often need. Also, a big shout-out to my many loyal readers out there, all 15-17 of you! I simply couldn’t have done it without you.

Onward, friends!

  1. It has been a pleasure to read your ramblings now that they’re linked to Facebook. Before that, out of sight, out of mind – Lol

May your tasty juices (creative and otherwise) continue to flow freely.
Thanks for the laughs and special insight from time to time.
