Addendum: The sunlight, it burns

So, with no rain to speak of yesterday and the weather being the very definition of glorious today, I broke down and got out the sprinkler. I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised to find it in non-working condition as my sprinklers tend to have a shorter life span than the common housefly. Nonetheless, after the appropriate volley of curses was thrown, I found myself buying new sprinklers, again.

And now, finally, my yard is getting water.

Water that I have to pay for. Also, only I would wait until a day with gale-force winds to run my sprinklers. I hope the neighbors appreciate my contributions.

*grumbles*

I hope you’re someplace with a patio enjoying the weather and a lovely beverage. Happy Sunday.

  1. I don’t want to rub it in or anything, but they DO have Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast Stout at Comet. One of these days the stars will align, sprinkler heads will behave, and we’ll get you at one of these events!

  2. Can I leave a comment on a comment? I truly try to appreciate your love of craft beer, but I really have to ask – who, other than your average everyday alcoholic, -really wants to drink BEER for breakfast? 🙂

  3. You know, I’ve really never understood it either. In the past month or so, I’ve had no less than three beers with the words ‘breakfast’ or ‘brunch’ in their titles. I’ve also not imbibed in any of them between three or four in the afternoon, so I’m not entirely sure what makes them particularly AM-meal-centric other than maybe hint of coffee in the nose or taste.

To each their own, but I’m typically too busy working during the breakfast hours to enjoy an 11% ABV beer. Methinks my boss would not be pleased at all.
