I realize I haven’t exactly been fair and equitable towards winter since the holidays ended, calendar rolled over, and we’ve been mired in this seemingly never-ending hell of ice, snow, polar vortices, etc, etc. Basically, I’ve complained like a big, lame whiner that I’m cold and tired of all the cold, snowy, coldiness.
In all fairness, there are some bright spots as pertains to the soul-crushing chill and, especially, the hateful blanket of ice that’s covered everything here for the past week. I mean, sure, it took me four hours over a two-days span to chisel the sheet of frozen misery off my driveway enough to allow vehicles to use it last week, but come on, it’s not like that was childbirth or anything. Also, the kids did get an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy sledding unlike anything they’d ever experienced before.
I give you Exhibit A:
Yeah, I know it doesn’t look all that impressive, but if you’ve ever tried sledding in anything more than an inch of hard-packed snow, you’ll know that a plastic sled bearing any weight at all will typically make it about a foot and quarter before digging into the accumulated whiteness like a cartoon. This was way awesome.
It also gave me an excuse to make a video and learn how to upload it to YouTube.
So, there’s that, at least.
Your regularly scheduled winter whining will resume tomorrow.

Loved the video!!!! And, our driveway is a HUGE sheet of ICE that something north of 32 degrees is going to have to melt because it is now super-compacted ice AND we also have the mess at the end of our iced over driveway!!!!
