This strange springtime of social distancing keeps presenting me with new opportunities to string sentences together that I never in a million years thought I’d say. Case in point, the latest of such unexpected statements: today I am indeed wearing a pair of socks emblazoned with the face of the Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear.

Why? you ask. Well, apparently the governor has become something of a minor novel coronavirus management celebrity. He’s been doing daily press conferences for as long as I’ve been posting about my social distancing socks and has earned a reputation for being quite disapproving of people choosing not to following his “Healthy at Home” guidelines. No, seriously, the Andy Beshear memes have been a key element keeping many Kentuckians going through all this. There’s even a Facebook group for the meme-ry.
So as we round out the 31st day of all this, wearing my these puppies seemed not just kind of appropriate, but, really, a moral imperative.

PS: if you’re looking for your own pair of Andy socks, or some other personalized gift, these came from Goat Lady Gifts, which you can find on the Facebook.
