Socks for Social Distancing, Day 13

Today was supposed to be Opening Day for Major League Baseball. And seeing how I live near Cincinnati, that makes this day every year a Very Big Deal. The fact, then, that there was no baseball today and who knows when there might actually be some, let alone the usual parade, festivities, and tomfoolery a Very Very Big Deal. And a pretty disappointing one at that.

But!

Never fear. There may have been no bats a-cracking, and yes, we suffered for not hearing the ball snap into a well-worn leather mitt. At least, though, I could keep the game on my mind, and in my heart.

Plus also, of course, on my feet.

Here’s to looking forward to the day, hopefully not too far off in the future, when we’ll actually get to hear the ump call out, “Play ball!” Until then, let’s think pleasant baseball thoughts.

And I guess get out to cut the grass whenever you can.
